Welcome to Remix.vg – one of the internet’s very best go-to sources for Remixes, Mashups and Covers to which anyone and everyone can submit their work, or the work of others to be played and enjoyed by all.

A lot of people who come on Remix.vg love the home-spun, low key vibe we have here – but don’t be fooled: over 2 million users have visited this site in the past 30 days. You will see why, if you go on Google and search for “Remix Charts” or a similar combination of over 1,000 music related terms!

We provide you with the opportunity to listen to and rate remixes, mashups and covers for our three charts: the Remix Charts, the Mashup Charts and the Covers Charts. Rating is simple: it used to be a 5 star system, but it seemed people weren’t happy with that – choosing either 1 star, or 5, and missing out 2,3, and 4 – so we thought let’s cut out the middlemen and go for a simple UP or a DOWN! So that’s how you rate any track! Like it, hit UP, dislike it, hit DOWN. Then go and look how it’s charting!

Be warned though, remix charting is highly addictive – we haven’t got much else done since August 2008, when we first launched this website (I know, it seems like we’ve been here forever!).

Watch out for our first birthday, too, we’re trying to gather together some of these DJing monsters in order to put something big together to celebrate musical style.

Oh, last but not least – we always try to promote and support the original artists and the creative talents behind any remix, mashup and cover – if you like a remix that is commerically available, help them out by purchasing it (it costs like 79cents or something usually!), or by buying the original artist’s work if the remix is unofficial. We recommend this as it means that artists and record labels are more likely to provide you with free copies via Remix.vg in future – so everybody wins!

Also, if you have your own blog, MySpace, Facebook or Twitter or whatever, support Remix.vg (and/or your own remixes, or those of your favourite producers) by linking to Remix.vg, and the remixes you want to push up the charts! Doing this is really easy – just hit the “Share This” button and follow the prompts to tell the world about the remix you happen to be on! We’re trying to keep things about the music here, so if you have any suggestions where we might improve this site, just let us know.

At present, we use YouTube to help us fight any copyright infringements – this is because YouTube is regularly trawled by record companies who know who own which rights - this makes it easier for us to police things our end. If you wish to put a remix, mashup or cover onto our site, currently you must first submit it to YouTube – when we work out an adequate solution to this, we will be the first to shout about it. Once you have a YouTube URL, you can submit your remixes here, along with some text and images about the remix.
