Here is the remix of Beyonce “If I Were a Boy” where she explains what life would be like were Beyonce a boy, with the help of R Kelly, of Hiding in the Closet fame.

Beyonce is always better when she’s not trying to be Ella Fitzgerald. There, I’ve said it! Beyonce can’t really sing: this sort of gentle song is much better suited to her talents.

Enjoyable music.

This remix: better than the original? That’s the question – leave your answers below.

  1. Listening to Beyonce is like standing next to a drill sergeant. There’s nothing sweet about it when she starts belting out the notes.

  2. who was the dumb asshole to write this short article. beyonce can hella sing…and if u had a damn brain you would know it. ppl should just stop remixing every damn song she makes and let her just do her damn job. i mean wtf….u guys have not a shit to do or sumthing?…and for the person to write that comment b4 me…shut ur dumb white ass

  3. Thanks nyboy for your insightful comments. I stand by the fact that Beyonce isn’t known for having a good voice, rather its the whole package that works for her. She gets good songs, and is phenomenally produced. She can hold a note, as can most people who have taken singing lessons, just don’t try telling me she’s a good singer, because it isn’t true. When she sticks to her dancing and putting on a show, she’s one of the best in the world: that’s why this song doesn’t quite work. Notice I said quite. Its still a good track, just with a slightly weak vocal.
