This is my remix of ‘Superstar’ by Lupe Fiasco ft Mathew Santos. I had this idea that the intro on the original version sounded a bit like the piano riff from ‘That’s The Way Love Is’ by Ten City (an 80′s house classic), so set about re-creating the parts around Lupe Fiasco’s vocal. It seemed to strike a chord with quite a few radio Dj’s – some finding nostalgia from the Ten City influence, others were just in need of a more uptempo remix of the original. Unfortunately, despite getting a fair amount of UK radio airplay and a place on the daytime playlist at Kiss100 London throughout summer 2008, the record label overlooked it’s potential and never pursued making it an official release.
